If you’re a teacher or PTA member planning the next school field trip, a painting class checks every box: hands-on, age-appropriate for K-12, no athletic ability required, and every student leaves with something they made. Purple Easel has hosted school painting events across the Inland Empire for over a decade.
You have two formats to choose from, and we’ll help you pick the one that fits your group and budget.
Option 1: Field Trip to Our Ontario Studio
Bring your class to our studio at Daybreak Plaza in Ontario, CA. We can accommodate 20-116 painters per session. The studio is set up for groups: dedicated tables, easels at the right height for kids, supplies pre-positioned, parking right out front.
Logistics:
- 20-painter minimum, 116-painter maximum per session
- All supplies included: canvas, acrylic paint, brushes, easels, aprons
- Painting instruction led by our experienced staff
- You choose the painting from our catalog (see our kid paintings collection)
- 2 hours typical (90 minutes for younger grades)
- Email reservations@purpleeasel.com for a quote based on group size and painting choice
Option 2: We Come to Your School
Can’t transport the class to us? We bring the studio to you. Indoor or outdoor, classroom or cafeteria, gym or library — we set up wherever there’s water access and a flat surface.
Logistics:
- 30-painter minimum, 300-painter maximum per session
- No setup fee included in the base price
- $4 per mile, one way, from our Ontario studio (typical Inland Empire schools are under $50 round-trip)
- Full materials included (canvas, paint, brushes, easels, aprons)
- Optional table/chair rental ($175 minimum) if your space doesn’t have them
- Email reservations@purpleeasel.com to schedule
Who This Works For
We’ve hosted painting events for elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, charter schools, and youth programs across Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Riverside, San Bernardino, Pomona, Chino, Upland, and beyond. Topics have ranged from sunsets and landscapes for younger kids to leadership-themed paintings for student government retreats.
Some examples of recent school events: middle school leadership groups, elementary art enrichment days, high school graduation celebrations, end-of-year class parties, character education programs.
How to Book
School events require minimum payment up front to secure the date. Full refund up to one week before the event, 60% refund within the week, no refund for no-shows. Gift cards aren’t eligible for school event deposits.
